Ferrule secured eye termination (FSET)- Is an eye formed at a rope end and secured by a ferrule pressed onto rope by the process of a hydraulic press.
Ferrule secured eyes shall conform to BS EN 13411-3
The minimum length of plain rope between ferrules terminating a sling leg shall be 20 times the normal rope diameter.
Soft Eyes are normally 15 times the relevant rope diameter.
Terminal fittings, can be utilised, hence master links, shackles, hooks ect. However, all fittings must exceed or equal the capacity of the sling.
